Driftime® recently sponsored Get Together Through Gaming, a live event hosted by Leeds Mind to raise money for better mental health.

When we Got Together Through Gaming

After Driftime® co-founder Abb-d Taiyo joined forces with GTTG, digital agency Few and   Far, and Leeds Mind in 2023, it became clear how videogames can help support good mental wellbeing.

This year, Driftime sponsored the event which took place over the weekend of 15-17th March, and saw guests discussing the health and wellbeing benefits of gaming whilst streaming on Twitch. Abb-d streamed Helldivers 2 with Director of Few and   Far, Colin Grist, as they explored what helps their wellbeing, how they maintain their mental health, and their personal positive experience of how gaming supports this. All whilst spreading democracy.

“GTTG 2024 raised a whopping £7,289!”

The Get Together Through Gaming Team

At the end of the weekend, the Get Together Through Gaming team announced that the final total raised from the streaming event reached a milestone amount of £7,289!

A huge thanks goes out to all of the streamers who joined the event, and the community that made GTTG so special this year. The money raised will help Leeds Mind support people build on their strengths, overcome obstacles, and become more in control of their lives. The weekend may be over, but you can still show your support for the event and the streamers.
