Driftime® speak with the BBC on the 4-day work week

Ever since founding the business in 2016, we have always had the ambition to work no more than four days a week, taking inspiration from organisations that put the wellbeing of their workforce before profit, and team health before wealth.

The recent advancements in AI and prompt engineering has allowed us to stay true to our promise of delivering high quality, impact-driven work to our clients and partners, without having to compromise our team’s wellbeing through overworking or unnecessary stress. By using AI as a design and impact “ally” instead of a replacement for creativity, we’ve utilised tools, plug-ins, and platforms to automate laborious set-up tasks, optimise our efficiencies, and accelerate our practice. It’s an ongoing process, but thanks to AI we’ve been able to allocate more time, energy, and resource to our clients and partners to deliver impactful digital design all within a neat four day week.

"we've seen a remarkably high quality of work matched by a high staff satisfaction return"

AI is a disruptor across all industries, shaping a world where we don’t need to spend hours or days wading through laborious manual tasks, where instead we’re freed up to spend time coming up with new ways of thinking and expressing ourselves creatively. Now is the time to take advantage of the platforms making life easier for us, by using the AI tools that can help to alleviate manual tasks in a way we can’t imitate as humans to accelerate our practice, and elevate the human elements of our design and impact.
