B Local, B Clean, B Corp...

B Corp month has landed and we’re locked in the midst of the climate crisis, responding to a critical call to advocate for the planet, and act now for our future. Join us!

Driftime joined the B Corp family in 2021, an expansive and growing community of like-minded companies reinventing business and thinking beyond profit to uplift and empower people and planet. A year plus down the line, and we’re exploring local impact as well as contributing to a global effort of over 4,000 businesses, finding good company in 15 fellow B Corps along the southern coast working together to go beyond business, and create meaningful and enduring impact for social, environmental, and economic betterment.

This year (2023), March marks B Corp month, an opportunity to showcase and celebrate the businesses choosing to go above and beyond for people and planet, and encouraging others to pull up a chair to the table, and to continue the conversation. B Corp is a growing global movement, aligning triple bottom line thinking with good business, good people, and great outcomes, with everyone from our friends over at innovative workspace X+Why, to the world-renowned Finisterre sharing a vision for a better future as B Corps.

On a sunny Tuesday morning, a mighty 105 volunteers took to our Brighton streets armed with litter pickers and a common goal, spending our time collecting discarded rubbish and chatting through our hopes and dreams for a healthy planet supported by happy people. We see the value in celebrating a global initiative that goes beyond our seaside town, connecting a thriving community of like-minded people with impact felt locally and on-the-ground. Hailing from 15 B Corps exploring everything from digital design to sustainable eyewear, we collected a hefty load of plastic destined for the ocean, and toasted to our success with a cup of Bird and Blend Tea, and a zesty hand sanitiser courtesy of the Body Shop.

Big thanks to John and Kayleigh for organising the event, the 15 B Corps that came together, and the B Corp curious who joined the force! This is the first of many B Local events, with the view to explore what more we can do to support our city, and nurture our planet.

If you’re interested in supporting the cause in Brighton, take a look at Weed Warriors and the Tidy Up Team, or continue the conversation with us over at hello@driftime.com

Thanks to... Pala Eyewear, Tilt Creative, Pura Adventures, The Body Shop, Bird and Blend, Finisterre Brighton, Propellernet, EQ Investors, GOAT Digital, Red Inc and Selective Asia for all participating, as well as others in the community.
