As we continue to update and iterate our internal practices and processes, Driftime® have introduced a couple of new policies to our existing library of internal resources. By adding a Period and Menopause Policy and a Gender Recognition Policy to our catalogue, we're working hard to nurture an even more inclusive, supportive, and uplifting workplace that accommodates and celebrates the whole team.

Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (DE&I)
As a business grounded in equality and diversity, Driftime® establishes inclusion in our working environment, hiring, clients, partners, suppliers and creative practices. We look to lead by example, guided by values of fair and considered representation, whilst acknowledging the need for faster and more efficient methods of addressing disadvantage and marginalisation in both business and wider society. Diversity, equity, and inclusion are priorities we do not compromise on as we enact consistent and effective improvement and development in our practice. We have embedded a flat structure across the organisation which encourages exchange of thoughts and idea sharing, team collaboration, and the freedom to use your voice to raise concerns, to challenge, and to share opinions.
Driftime® is unreservedly committed to the embodiment and practise of the nine “protected characteristics” detailed in the Equality Act 2010, by actively pursuing a culture of respect, dignity, and understanding which challenges discrimination, bias, harm, harassment, inequality and prejudice. We work directly with clients, partners, employees and suppliers to respond appropriately to any reasonable adjustments or access requirements.
Being a partly minority-owned business, Driftime® takes measures to remove unnecessary barriers and limits that minorities face in the workplace. At Driftime®, everyone has equal access to opportunity and growth, where our differences are celebrated, cherished, and harnessed to fuel our collective creativity and wider impact. Our approach to diversity, equity and inclusion (DE&I) is rooted in the way we approach our work: as a continual work in progress which requires deep listening, collaboration, curiosity, revision, and reflection.
We encourage you to bring every aspect that makes you you to Driftime® because without you, there wouldn’t be an us.
Social & Environmental
Driftime® advocates for sustainable and responsible actions in all business procedures. In taking the time to review our own output in relation to our ecological outlook, we recognise our contribution and hold ourselves accountable for our actions, regularly reviewing how we can reduce our impact. Our attitude has consistently been principle over profit, making business decisions that benefit all parties, including the wider environment. We take pride in the steps we take towards considered and sustainable travel, design, and tech, and continue to educate ourselves on carbon-offsetting and efficient methods of optimising an achievable, healthy, and positive environmental and social practice.
In addition to our commitment to improving our wider environmental impact, we act on a micro level in order to facilitate a sustainable working environment. By using minimal resources through digital, editorial, and web-based work, Driftime® places limits on unnecessary waste for optimum efficiency. We use 100% green and/or renewable energy to power both our primary place of work and our websites, whilst actively looking into reducing and balancing the amount of CO2 our websites generate through offsetting with Trees for Life, Only One & Ecologi. To action our commitment, we have signed the Web Sustainability Manifesto, and give 1% of our annual turnover back through 1% for the Planet. To further our conditions for a sustainable work space, we educate and inform our staff on the importance of a considered lifestyle that prioritises the environment, encouraging minimal travel and healthy choices wherever possible.
Acting with purpose and intention has been at the core of Driftime® since we started the business in 2016, and we’ve made a conscious effort to better understand ourselves in an ongoing deep and meaningful way. We believe that what happens within the business is just as important as the output produced through our work. For us, becoming a B Corp business is an opportunity to lead by example by doing more, and saying less.
By joining the Better Business Act, we're joining forces with 550+ companies who have signed up for a cleaner, greener, fairer future for all. A mission to change UK law and make every company in the UK, big or small, align interests of their shareholders with those of wider society and the environment.
In actively recognising our impact on the environment, our clients, partners, colleagues, and employees trust, understand, and share our principles and ecological practice. We choose to incorporate environmental factors into our business decisions, and integrate green actions into our fundamental message. In doing so, we look to engage with like-minded clients, partners and staff, whilst continuing to improve, monitor, and mitigate our environmental performance.
Ethics & Transparency
We believe that communication is the root of proper business. Transparency is a crucial aspect of a healthy and balanced professional relationship, something we exercise ourselves and expect from others. We look to work with clients and partners who share our ethical philosophy and actively pursue connections with like-minded people. Driftime® establishes and maintains a narrative of honesty, trust, and integrity through our ethical and commercial good practice, a means of positive motivation for both ourselves and the people we work with.
Driftime® welcomes questions about our process and services, we are clear about our methods and practice with our clients, partners, colleagues, and employees. We look to assert a corporate commitment to transparency in our ethical practice, including our actions and collaboration with others. Driftime® historically and consistently demonstrates an active investment in sharing skills and knowledge and offering advice to others without expecting return. We do meaningful work that goes beyond standard business relationships, creating long lasting and important connections that serve all parties.
An effective business strategy involves a comprehensive insight into procedure, exacting a balanced correspondence that initiates a clear and honest dialogue between all involved. We are fully committed to ethical and transparent business, and pride ourselves on our non-negotiable high standards.
Civic Engagement & Giving
As a community-minded business, Driftime® routinely engages with others to establish a system of active support and guidance. We look to give back, providing advice to other organisations during adverse times. In suspending our usual business, we often offer pro bono support at no cost to a select few organisations that might not otherwise have access to our services.
Driftime® is involved with several causes and events that promote value driven business and positive social engagement. As a business we make a concerted effort to engage with both individuals and organisations to provide help and advice when needed. We look to aid career progression through mentoring young creatives, adding to our extensive experience in guiding young people towards their professional goals. Having been involved with First Mile, Ladies, Wine and Design, The Girls Network, ADPList and other initiatives and organisations, we prioritise giving back to our community through value-driven work. We use feedback from our clients to help inform us on what we can offer to other businesses, how we can give back, and in what ways we can create an ongoing positive impact through our professional conduct.
Driftime® places a significant importance on considered and collaborative business, taking into account the personal as well as the professional, and using our time, resources, and expertise to assist and empower our expansive community.
Partner Care & Standards
Driftime® works internationally, interacting with many agencies, companies, and businesses from all over the globe. We care for all our clients and partners with the same respect and esteem that we afford our own business, practising impartiality and fairness at every stage of our work. We perform personal and professional excellence, confident in our ability to meet and exceed expectations of our clients, partners, and colleagues.
We regularly check-in with our employees through weekly stand-ups, quarterly check-ins and 6 monthly reviews. We also adopt a similar approach with our clients through bi-weekly stand-ups to help understand and resolve any concerns or difficulties they may have, providing a safe space for everyone involved to air any grievances. Driftime® hopes to facilitate a responsible, considerate, and caring environment, for both the benefit of the business, our employees, extended staff, and the people we work with.
As a minority-owned business, we aim to support other founders, owners, and businesses for underserved peoples in similar light. We use a matrix and cross-subsidisation model to allow our skills, expertise and resource to be accessible to such businesses, whether that be financially constrained organisations serving the underserved, or independent minority owned businesses.
We additionally have indemnity insurance, giving our clients further peace of mind should any problems arise in unusual circumstances.
Following the completion of any project, Driftime® obtain a signed declaration of completion, along with a request for feedback via an anonymous review link with The Drum. Quarterly follow up meetings are arranged with the client for a year to ensure OKRs are being met and they are working towards the level of impact they are trying to create.
We operate with transparent processes and give full visibility to our client partners using an accessible Notion Dashboard. We hold a monthly internal retrospective meeting in relation to each project with the aim to improve our processes, services and how we can give further support to our team and client partners. We extend this further by holding a client retrospective at the end of each project to understand what worked well and what could have been improved.
